On a recent episode of Derek Thompson’s “Plain English” podcast he dug into the relationship between smartphones and mental health. Together with his guest, New York Times columnist David Wallace-Wells, they channel Paul Harvey and suggest what could be a “The Rest of the Story” going on here. There are good data points here despite the fact they both end up on the “ban the smartphones from schools” side of that discussion…you know how I feel about that!
Bottom line, as with an article my old boss and I wrote for the parent community at Good Shepherd several years ago, you can find studies and articles online to support every side of any argument/discussion. My suggestion? Read them all and assign your own value to them and march forth!
